Vayalar Sarath Chandra Varma is a noted Malayalam film lyricist.
He is the son of Malayalam poet and lyricist Vayalar Ramavarma. He was born in the village of Vayalar, Cherthala, in Aalappuzha district.
He is married to Sreelatha and has one daughter, Subhadra. Sarath studied predegree at St.
Xavier's College, Thumba, Trivandrum in 1975-77. He attended Mar Ivanious College, Thiruvanathampuram for graduation and was elected as College Magazine Editor.
He entered to the lyrics field through the Ayyappa devotional songs by K.
J.
Yesudas released in 1990.
Later, he debuted in films through the film 'Ente Ponnuthamburan', released in 1992.
That film had 4 songs composed by G.
Devarajan master, his father's major teammate.
But, his career had a break only through the film 'Mizhi Randilum', released in 2003.
From that day on wards, he is busy in songwriting field.
