About William Beal (cricketer)

  • William Beal (17 March 1877 – 3 August 1964) was an Australian-born New Zealand cricketer who played for Otago.
  • He was born in Launceston and died in Dunedin. Beal made a single first-class appearance for the side, during the 1909-10 season, against Auckland.
  • From the tailend, he scored 1 not out in the first innings in which he batted, and a duck in the second, as Otago lost the match by an innings margin. Beal later stood as umpire in three first-class matches.
  • His brother, Carl, played for Otago and Canterbury.
