- Angel Mateo Canavery (1850 - 1916) was an Argentine military man and diplomatic, who served as a military attaché in the Kingdom of Italy.Throughout his military career he participated in civil conflicts and faced the Chiefs Juan José Catriel and Manuel Namuncura.
- He served as lieutenant in the 1st Regiment under the command of General Julio Argentino Roca, taking part in the main military actions that occurred during the Conquest of the Desert.
