About Hans Gasser

  • Hans Gasser (2 October 1817 – 24 April 1868) was a painter and sculptor from Austria. Gasser was born in Eisentratten, Krems, Carinthia as the son of the woodworker Jakob Gasser and the younger brother of Joseph Gasser von Valhorn.
  • He was the pupil of Carl Gsellhofer, and became an academy lecturer where he taught Edmund von Hellmer and Carl Schild.
  • He was the father of the sculptor Jakob Nudera. He died in Pest, Hungary.
