Mitchell Joachim (pronounced /jo-ak-um/; born February 3, 1972) is known as an innovator in socio-ecological design, architecture, and urban design.
He is also an active researcher on resilient cities, and a dedicated architectural educator.
Mitchell Joachim's specific professional interest has been adapting ecological principles to architecture, city design, transportation, industrial design, synthetic biology, and environmental planning.
He is the founding Co-President at Terreform ONE, and an Associate Professor of Practice at NYU.
Previously he was the Frank Gehry Chair at University of Toronto.
Earlier, he was faculty at Pratt, Columbia, Syracuse, Washington, Parsons, and the European Graduate School.
Formerly he worked as an architect for Gehry Partners, and Pei Cobb Freed.
